Signin algorithms In AS2 Adapter

Hi Friends,

        In AS2 there are Different Signing Algorithms and different Encryption Algorithms.

   Please let me know

     What is Signin and Encrytion?

   When you go for Algorithms and how we know our required Algorithm?
